DACHSHUND COATS AND SWEATERS

Perfect fitting designs for the Dachshund

When it comes to clothing for dachshunds, CLOUD7 puts their needs first. Most of our coats, whether for cold, winter or rainy days, are available in a universal fit. For dachshunds, however, we have a special range of coats tailored to the unique physique of our four-legged friends. Dachshunds, including miniature dachshunds, have a deeper chest, longer back and shorter legs than other breeds. We know that a perfect fit is essential for our pets' wellbeing, so we have designed our most popular products, including the Dublin waterproof raincoat and Cornwell jumper, to fit dachshunds.

As with the rest of our coat range, our products feature high quality, elegant and modern designs, optimised fit and perfect functionality. The tailored design of CLOUD7 coats for dachshunds allows for effortless dressing and undressing, thanks to the Velcro fastenings that allow the coat to be put on and taken off in seconds.

CLOUD7 dog coats for dachshunds are available in a range of sizes to suit all dachshund body shapes and to ensure the perfect fit for each individual dog. Even puppies fit into our dachshund coats: Our small size (size 2) raincoats, for example, fit puppies from around 3 months old, when the length of their back is around 33cm.

A coat for dachshunds is more than just a fashionable accessory for dog owners. Considering their short hair, dachshund jumpers and coats are of considerable health value, preventing illness and increasing comfort. Especially for young puppies, dogs with illnesses and senior dogs, clothing is essential for a happy life. Dachshunds are a short-haired breed with little or no undercoat to keep them warm. In combination with the breed's short legs, they are therefore more susceptible to cold and moisture, sometimes being soaked to the bone.

A dog coat with belly protection is highly recommended for dogs like the Dachshund, as the sensitive belly area contains some important vital organs. This is why our dog coats, such as the "Dublin" raincoat or the "Cornwall" fleece seater, have underbelly protection.

City dogs, who are usually kept on a lead, do not always get to run around freely to keep themselves warm. They tend to shiver, freeze and shake, especially when waiting at traffic lights or accompanying their owners on shopping trips. Active dogs can also benefit from wearing dog clothing. After rounds of wrestling and running, they also lose a lot of heat quickly in colder weather and can become more susceptible to injury and illness.

Protect your four-legged friend from tucked in tails, shivering and freezing in the cold. Tried and tested, with the right winter coats your dachshund will not notice the difference and will be happy to accompany you on a winter walk. Whilst some are unphased to go out and do their business in the cold and rain, lots of sausage dogs will pull a protest and strike at the slightest bit of raindrops. In additional to being an added layer of protection against wind and rain, a raincoat for your dachshund won’t ever disappoint.

Even if your dog is unphased by rain, the arrival at home, in a shop or at the office will be considerably less messy thanks to a dog rain jacket. Protect your clean walls as well as furniture, whenever you may be from puddle water and dirt from the rainy day walk.

  • Reflective detailing for extra safety in low light
  • Optimal design with tailor-fit for dachshunds

With such a wide range of sizes available, it can be challenging to select the most suitable dog coat for Dachshunds without guidance. The most important factor to consider is your dog's weight. The length of the back is also important, but only the actual length, measured from the base of the collar to the base of the tail, should be taken into account. The Velcro fastener allows for easy adjustment in size of the chest area of the dog coats. However, it is important to note that the chest circumference is a relevant guideline for size selection.
